Hydropower Plants Currently in Operation - 2016

Currently 54 Hydropower projects are in operation and connected to national Grid;


Kali Gandaki Hydropower Project in Syangja district is currently Nepal’s largest Hydropower Project with full capacity of 144MW where Tinau Hydropower Project located at Papla District is the smallest one with installed capacity of 1.024MW. Both of these projects are located in Western Development Region. 

Total Capacity of these 54 Hydropower Projects is 786.899MW and most of them are run-of-the-river hydropower projects, only Khulekhani I and Khulekhani II are reservoir based hydropower projects.
