Deaths of Nepalese Labour Migrants (2008-2014)

In last 5 years, deaths of Nepalese Migrant working has significantly grown in Malaysia (15 deaths in 2008/2009 to 292 death in 2013/2014), During same time, deaths of Nepalese migrant workers in Lebanon has been low and going down.

Within the span of six years, the annual number of deaths of male migrant workers increased from 87 to 818 where as the female deaths increased from 3 to 24 (2008-09 to 2013-14).

Natural cause and unidentified causes are the most prominent causes of death. There has been significant growth in Suicide, in 2008/2009  9 Nepalese labour had committed suicide but by 2013/2014 the number had increased to 89. Traffic accidents are also major cause of death of Nepalese labour migrant workers.
